Completely shocked! Ignore the other reviews & give it a shot! I can be pretty finicky and hesitant about eating mexican food on the River Walk, but the tacos al carbon and shredded chicken burrito were on Point this past Monday night!
The burrito was HUGE...literally the size of a 32oz Yeti Cup and packed full of shredded chicken and melted cheese. I wish it had more enchilada sauce on it but that didn't take away from anything. This behemoth could easily be shared between two people.
The tacos al carbon were seasoned and cooked perfectly! The plate is served with charro beans and rice, the rice was okay but the beans were legit! And the prices were Fair for what you receive.
We sat outside so there was a zero wait time. Yes there are ducks and birds around all looking for scraps...why, um because we sat Outside, duh.. But they weren't a nuisance, they were just in the vicinity.
Honestly I'm not a big fan on eating on the River Walk cuz the food is generally overpriced and mediocre to say the least. But I was definitely caught off guard and Surprised to find this place!! I would definitely come back next time! -

For eating pleasure, I didn't rely on Yelp at all. What I did is went through the concierge at Holiday Inn and looked at the brochures that had because I didn't want to read a lot of reviews.
My BIL wanted Mexican food so we opted for The Original Mexican Restaurant. It is also open 24 hours.
Service is very attentive and outstanding. We were seated right away. No issue at all. The chips were delicious. Lemme tell you, they have the best salsa I've ever had! The hit of spiciness is great!
I got the Chiles Rellenos. I asked for both of them to be chicken. On the menu, it listed as one chicken, one beef.
The portion sizes are huge!! I could only eat half of it. The price is reasonable and for what the sizes are, it is well worth it. None of us was able to finish our food at all! We all took back to the hotel.
Great time. Delicious food.

Came in for happy hour, first thing you notice is the smell... bleh! A Drain Is clogged somewhere and nothing has been done about it for some time! Not appetizing at all! #1 sign of bad management is poor maintenance.. you'd have to be deaf, blind and dumb not to notice that stench! 2 groups walked in smelled it and walked back out.. we probably should have done the same.
Well we sat and ordered drinks and some queso and guacamole. Family liked the queso but not the guacamole, it tasted old and spoiled. I told the waiter (bleach stripe hair) and he apologized for it but that was it, he no replacement offer and still charged us for it.
Service was ok other than selling us old nasty guacamole.
Happy hour drinks are canned beer and 8oz tiny margaritas.
Too many other options on the river walk to come back here again.. do yourself a favor and just pass this one by. -

Absolutely awful. If you wanna fight birds stealing your food, awful bland food, and horrible service, this place is for you.
The birds would not leave us alone and the staff just watched.
To start the waiter screwed up two dished. Told us they could substitute pork, and they dont even have pork. Refills were slim, and we had to ask every time. The free chips were hard and stale. I knew they were not good, when even my hungry kids didn't even want them.
My wife got the nachos and they were like a soggy tostada. I got a burrito and asked for queso. The queso was plastic cheese out of a can. Nasty.
My burrito was full of beans and rice. Very little meat. All the plates were soupy messes.
No coke products. -

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I've added a star because it is admirable when management/owners take the time to read feedback. I did not contact a manager because I was there to enjoy San Antonio and nothing else. I save feedbacks for yelp
